All-Electric Molding Machine Control System
This project demonstrates a comprehensive PLC-based control system and HMI design for an all-electric injection molding machine. The system manages four synchronized servo motors (rotating screw, mold clamping, ball screw injection, and ejection) with precise position and torque control.
Key Technical Achievements:
The implementation incorporates servo-motor programming with analog signal scaling to process 4-20mA sensor inputs from PT100 temperature sensors, converting readings into actionable temperature control across four heating zones. The control logic operates in both Automatic and Manual modes, executing complete injection cycles with integrated timers and counters for precise sequence timing and production tracking.
The system features an intuitive HMI accessible via web browser and mobile applications, displaying real-time operational parameters including clamping settings, filling pressure, injection controls, temperature monitoring, and alarm status. Real-time feedback includes actual positions, velocities, and torques for each axis, ensuring process consistency and production quality.
This project showcases end-to-end industrial automation expertise from complex real-time control algorithms to user-accessible interfaces directly applicable to manufacturing automation and control systems engineering.
